Building Awareness for a New International Conference in Europe
The International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA) was created to promote an exchange of views and perspectives on pressing economic issues of our times among world leaders, renowned experts and business executives. Its mission is also to facilitate agreements, offer business opportunities and provide access to unique insights from leading specialists. The Forum already had three reputable conferences in North America – the Conference of Montreal, the Toronto Global Forum and the World Strategic Forum in Miami – and set its sight on establishing a presence in Europe.
The Conference of Paris was launched in Paris to foster conversations around globalisation and the role Europe could play. With only one year in the new market, the organization needed to gain additional visibility to continue to attract speakers and drive attendance to the event.
Allison+Partners was hired to engage audiences, increase media and influencer contacts and raise awareness for the conference in Europe. Our strategy was to use high profile spokespeople to share their views about reshaping globalisation, a core theme of the 2018 edition. Our team executed a media relations campaign that featured conference speakers such as OECD Secretary General Angel Gurria, European Economic Affairs Commissioner Pierre Moscovici and CEOs from Michelin, Suez, Engie, Morgan Stanley, NewsCorp and Thales.
At the end of our efforts, we generated over 50 articles in European media, with an online and offline audience of more than 20MM. Spokespeople were featured in top tier business international media such as CNBC, Bloomberg, TV5 Monde, and national business media like BFM Business or Les Echos.
